Psychology of Fitness and Growth Mindset with Dr Kasey Jo Orvidas
Dr. Kasey holds a Ph.D. in Psychology and is a certified health and fitness coach, whose expertise is in mindset and health behavior change.
Unlike most health professionals, she didn’t have some life changing experience that led her down this path. Instead, she was studying criminology in college and had discovered strength training and discovered a passion for health and fitness.
When she went to grad school, she made the shift over to health psychology programs to try to understand why more people are not eating healthier and exercising even though they know they should.
According to Dr. Kasey, basically we have two mindsets: A Growth Mindset or a Fixed Mindset.
Broadly speaking, you either believe you can change or you believe that you can’t and have a “victim” mindset.
While Kasey works one-on-one with clients to help them improve their mindset issues, she also coaches other coaches about behavioral mindset so that they can help their clients get past their “fixed mindset” roadblocks that prevent them from eating better or exercising.

What You Missed
Online fitness expert, entrepreneur, and fitness model, Samantha Wallace started out in the world of competitive dance and like so many young women, she developed an eating disorder as a way of controlling her body image and appearance.
From her beginnings of being a competitive dancer she found her way into the NPC Bikini Competition.
At the age of 21, she was hospitalized and underwent emergency surgery and was diagnosed with endometriosis and endured a very long and painful recovery.
It was during this time that she decided she wanted to help others and got certified in corrective rehabilitation, nutrition and personal training and began training clients.
Like so many, when the COVID pandemic hit, Sam found herself without a job which forced her into pivoting from training clients in person to online training which has become the biggest blessing in her life.
By taking her business online, in less than a year, Sam has been able to help more people, transform more lives while making more money while experiencing more flexibility and freedom in her life.
