When Client Gifting Goes Horribly Wrong

When Client Gifting Goes Horribly Wrong

Yes, client gifting CAN go horribly wrong. In fact, some client gift ideas are just not worth doing at all!

In this video, I share how to make your client gifts really count.

You see, I recently received a card from McLaren Toronto. Now, I love McLarens and will continue to buy them because they are great cars. But if I had been any less enthusiastic about McLarens, they could have lost my business – all because of a card!

Now, what’s wrong with sending a thank you card to clients?

Well, nothing if you do it right. The problem with this card is that there was nothing personal about it. If you’re going to do client gifting, make sure you at least have some kind of personal touch to show you care. Otherwise, there’s not much point to your client gift ideas.

People expect certain things when it comes to doing business with you, especially for premium brands. I have friends who haven’t done business with Ferrari because of the poor customer service at the dealerships.

But this also means there is an opportunity to separate yourself from everyone else just by doing the things that everyone else is too lazy to do.

Do that little bit of extra and your clients will appreciate you for it. For example, write a personalized card and make it unexpected. Don’t just send a letter during the holidays, send one out of the blue. Client gift ideas shouldn’t just be reserved for specific times of the year.

When you do client gifting the right way, it’s a great way to show your gratitude, and it can make a big difference.

Not knowing your target market is the biggest mistake you can make in your business, and it will cost you A LOT!

A lot of the problems with medical marketing in healthcare businesses are related to messaging. And in today’s video, I discuss how to find your target market using relevant messaging, and what medical marketing strategies your business can draw from Tylenol.

Tylenol is a brand that’s synonymous with painkillers, with some product variations that speak to different pain points and areas of pain. What that brand is great at is aligning itself with pain in its different forms, meaning, if a customer has fever, they seek out Tylenol for fever, or if they experience migraine, there’s a Tylenol specifically for that.

This is a smart way for a company to market itself and its products, so they can stay relevant and top of mind when it comes to their target market. What customers don’t know is that the different product offerings don’t vary significantly from each other outside of how they’re packaged. And it’s not only Tylenol that does this.

A lot of other healthcare businesses and establishments do this to widen the product lines, extending its uses in the mind of the customer which creates more demand for their brand within certain target markets and niches.

There are plenty of lessons that your business can learn from Tylenol when it comes to medical marketing strategies, how to find your target market, and how to communicate with them. Stay tuned to hear what they are.

Let’s face it, building connections online is just not the same as doing so in a brick-and-mortar business. So as an online health practitioner or business owner, how do you start building client trust?

There are 3 KEY ELEMENTS that are crucial to nurturing client relationships online and getting people to trust you.

The first one is time. It takes time to get to know someone, and that includes developing client relationships. The more time you’re able to spend with them, the more likely it is that they end up knowing, liking, and trusting you. When you’re online, you can’t physically be with your audience, but you CAN build trust. Be consistent, nurture your client relationships.

Second, to start building client trust you need proximity. Again, in the brick-and-mortar model you have the ability to talk face-to-face with people who come in. So, how do you go about building connections like that online? The answer is by being vulnerable and by making people comfortable. When people are at ease, they’ll be more likely to trust you.

Third is value. The more value you can provide to others, the more you get in return. Give people something that they want. That way, they’ll be motivated to keep coming back to you, and you can build better client relationships.

Time, proximity, and value. When you have all three of these things in your business, you’ll attract a following FAST. These elements make building client trust simple.

Give these strategies a try and you’ll have no problem building connections that LAST!

You’ve GOT to watch this before you continue doing telehealth and remote medicine!

Telemedicine has taken off, and it’s continuing to soar. In the past 2 years, there’s been a 38-fold increase in virtual healthcare, and it offers healthcare practitioners location freedom. But in today’s video, I want to discuss the UGLY and unspoken truth about being a virtual doctor or a health professional doing online healthcare.

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought changes that normally would’ve taken quite a long time to take effect. One of these changes is the way that medicine is being done. Due to the many lockdowns and the need for social distancing to prevent the spread of the virus, telemedicine has been a great alternative to seeing patients in person.

This has been convenient for patients who, instead of having to drag themselves out of bed to make their way to clinics, can now get consultations in the comforts of their home. In addition, a large number of patients have expressed their preference for virtual healthcare due to it being more time-efficient.

It sounds like a win-win situation, right? But there’s a truth behind telemedicine or telehealth that you need to know before you continue with it. One of the unpleasant by-products of practicing online healthcare is the burnout it causes health practitioners like us. Location freedom is one thing. But what about your need for TIME freedom?

I invite you to watch until the end of this video to learn more about this unspoken truth about being a virtual doctor or healthcare professional practicing under a remote medicine set up.

The truth is, smart investments should always give you more freedom. Here are 3 of the best investments I’ve made in my personal life that have become extremely helpful in freeing up time for me, so I can focus more energy and time on the things that matter.

The first investment that has been SO worth it for me is hiring a personal chef. I enjoy cooking when I want to, not when I HAVE to. So, having someone come once a week to prepare our healthy meals has allowed me to focus more on the things that I really have to spend my time doing.

All of the team members that come onto our team are also smart investments. That’s because, like the personal chef, they help a ton when it comes to freeing up time. But I’m talking about A-players. Everyone I have on my team currently is giving me time back because I don’t have to micromanage them. Instead, they make work a lot easier by being on top of the things I used to have to do myself.

Then there’s my two McLarens. How have these helped me? For one thing, they bring me a great sense of peace and joy. For another, buying something expensive raises your standards.

Ultimately, raising your standards can lead to more productivity and success in your life because it changes your trajectory. It allows you to see opportunities that you might not otherwise see.

So, think about what smart investments you can make to start freeing up time. Soon, you’ll be surprised to see them free up your life! And you might just find them in the things that you least expected.

If you think that having a membership site is the ticket to financial freedom, THINK AGAIN.

When it comes to health coaching or other programs, most people tend to see a membership site as a quick and easy way to sit back, relax, and watch the money roll in. Unfortunately, that’s not the case. And in today’s video, I want to share the truth about coaching membership sites, and the importance of membership retention.

Have you ever thought about having a membership structure for your health coaching program? Do you already have one? In my previous health and fitness business, we had 4 membership sites which garnered us thousands of members who subscribed to our services.

However, in my experience, one of the hardest things to do once you’ve got the numbers is membership retention. In fact, the average period of retention for membership sites is JUST around 3 to 4 months.

In order to improve retention in your health coaching membership site, you must raise the price for membership in your health coaching business. And if you feel that increasing your membership fee would be too much, that only tells you that your current program just doesn’t provide enough value.

So, make sure that your health coaching program is indeed valuable, and communicates that same value to your coaching membership clients. Once you do this, you’ll start to see improvement in your membership retention, and start helping clients at the highest possible level, BEYOND just your membership site!

Out of all of the online business mistakes that I see health practitioners and online entrepreneurs are making, this is probably THE biggest one.

And it has a lot to do with how easy it is for people to just lose focus. What do I mean?

When every third or fourth post on Facebook is an ad, it’s hard to stay focused. You might see that someone else has a health coaching program that seems to work well for them. BUT that doesn’t mean you should spend your time trying to copy it. You need to make one offer and forget about trying out every strategy that you think looks interesting.

The reason why this is one of the biggest online business mistakes is because it drains your resources. When you’re an online entrepreneur, the best way to grow is to focus on the four “ones” in your business — one traffic source, one pipeline, one year, one million dollars.

But you have to be ultra focused in order to get to that one million dollars. What is the problem you’re solving for your clients? Focus on solving that problem and focus on your pipeline. When you put all of your energy into one single offer or health coaching program, you can give your clients everything they need to be successful.

Let’s face it, there are a lot of online business mistakes you can make as you’re starting out. It’s not easy to navigate the early stages as an online entrepreneur.

But when you focus on what you do best and say “no” to everything else, you set yourself up for success.

How should you deal with haters? What should you do when you come across online negativity and online bullies who just like to leave negative comments and criticism on your work?

As health entrepreneurs, part of our journey will always involve dealing with people. Some will be great and supportive, while others just might not approve of your work, methods or philosophies. Other times, you’ll just encounter people who can be critical and malicious for seemingly no reason.

So, how do you deal with haters? Today’s video sheds some light about handling online bullies and online negativity.

I recently had an encounter while I was out to pick up my bubble tea downtown. I got approached by a guy who blew a minor issue out of proportion. When I usually do my bubble tea run, I park my car on the side street with my flashers on since there’s no parking spot in the area and I’d only be there for a few minutes to grab my order.

The guy calls me out and starts saying inappropriate criticisms and insults. The situation quickly escalated. And it made me realize that I’d be responsible for the outcome of that confrontation. I had a choice about how I’d react to this. And instead of fighting back, I made the mature decision to walk away.

This applies to life in general, and the online space is no different. I often come across online negativity directed at me on social media. In the past, I’ve made the mistake of engaging with online bullies. However, there’s a better way to deal with haters than to resort to their tactics.

Watch the whole video to know how best to react when faced with online negativity, and what to do when you encounter online bullies as a health entrepreneur.

Avoiding business numbers is a choice that, quite frankly, could cost you your entire business. If you don’t know your numbers and don’t keep up with your business finances, you’re flying blind.

You have to take responsibility for your business, which means NOT delegating your messaging or your numbers to other people. These are the two non-negotiables as an entrepreneur.

Many people like to say, “I’m just not a numbers person.” Well, as a business owner, you really don’t have that option. You HAVE to know your numbers because they matter when you make key business decisions. For example, if you don’t know what the cost per acquisition is in your business, how are you going to know whether or not your marketing is efficient?

When you simply resign yourself to your aversion to business numbers, you can’t truly be in control of your business. It makes it difficult to course-correct because you have NO IDEA what’s really happening with your business finances.

Now, I’m not saying you need to create a complex spreadsheet with all of the different possible metrics for your business. You just need to track and know your numbers that matter.

As an entrepreneur, you not only have to master communication and messaging, you also have to know your numbers and master your business finances. When you choose to ignore your business numbers, it puts your whole business at risk.

Figure out what to track and how to track it, and you’ll be able to grow your business with confidence!

What are the biggest challenges they’re currently facing when it comes to reaching their health goals?

People who give you more information during your process of qualifying prospects are generally more committed and will most likely be good clients to work with, so pay attention to how they answer their application forms.
